Report on 2013 Spirits of Vermont Event
Well, as you probably heard the Spirits of VT to benefit the Pope Library had another successful year. This year we had some GREAT food (and a LOT of it) to go along with the wine, spirits and beer. Each restaurant seemed to be trying to out do the next. There were food items on offer like Brown's mini version signature sandwich along with tangy ribs, Butter's had their signature chili AND chicken and dumplings, Bentley's had all kinds of baked tasty treats along with a carrot cake inscribed Spirits of Vermont, Goodfellas had chicken wings and a ''buffalo pasta", The Creamery had cucumber soup shooters and smoked salmon platters and homemade sticky buns, Baliwick's had mini crab cakes and tuna tartaretinis. Genuine Jamaican contributed 'authentic Jerk Chicken while Cabot Cheese donated 18 lbs of cheese!! North Branch Vineyard had 5 wines on offer and East Shore Vineyard had 11 wines. Caledonia Spirits had their Barr Hill Gin and Vodka on offer while Dunc's Mill had their Maple and Elderflower Rum, Vermont Spirits offered their White and Gold Vodka. Eden Ice showcased their new Campari like and herbal Orleans Apertifs as well as their Ice Wines, Sumptuous Syrups provided refreshing non alcoholic lemonades flavored with their special syrups. And Bentley's additionally provided iced coffee and VT Maple Iced Tea from Vermont Coffee Company. Thanks to all the JPAers who attended and contributed and, of course to all who attended and helped raise money for the Pope Library. But the biggest thanks is to all the restaurants, wineries, distillers and The Alchemist for contributing time and in kind donations to help make this event so successful!
